Courses concentrate on flow cytometry, blood bank analysis, serology, immunology, clinical chemistry, molecular diagnostics, and parasitology. Georgia Southern University. Courses include principles of chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, clinical laboratory methodologies and molecular diagnostics, and urinalysis and body fluids.

Doig is an adjunct professor emeritus at Michigan State University. With a doctorate in adult and continuing education from Michigan State, she focuses on course and curriculum development, the professionalization of occupations, and workforce issues in medical laboratories.
She first joined MSU in and left to direct a hospital-based laboratory education program. She returned two decades later as the clinical coordinator for the undergraduate clinical laboratory sciences major. The school honored Dr.
Her publications on workforce issues in medical laboratories have received several awards. Firmani is the director of the medical laboratory sciences program at George Washington University. She has more than ten years of experience as an educator and researcher, and she currently teaches clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics in the medical laboratory science program.

Students must meet all physical and technical standards. Students must complete all required pre-requisite coursework as discussed below.
All pre-requisites must be complete before the student can begin the MLS program. All students are required to complete the ASCP Board of Certification review course during the final semester of the program. Three professional letters of recommendation and three completed professional "evaluations" which are requested as part of the AHCAS application. Letter s from your Human Resources HR department s verifying your rank and tenure of employment. Letter s verifying employment must come from HR and be written on official letterhead with an original signature.
State license will not substitute for national certification. Incomplete applications are not considered. Only applicants who have completed the program application process application is marked "verified" in AHCAS on or before February 1 will receive notification. Most application decisions will be made in March and April and notification will be sent by email to the address used in the AHCAS application.
All application notification emails will be sent by May 1. Applicants are responsible for monitoring their email, including "junk" and "clutter" folders, for notification from the MLS program. If all transfer credits are not at UND by the clinical affiliation date, the clinical experience and graduation will be delayed.
The student must understand that a background study will be done by a professional agency, approved by the MLS program, at the cost to the student. The student must pass this background study to be allowed into a clinical affiliate site to complete the clinical affiliation portion of the curriculum and fulfill the requirements of earning a B.
Admission is on a competitive basis, the application will be scored on a numerical scale related to the following criteria: Overall GPA, prerequisite science GPA, repeated courses, number of credits completed, assessment of writing sample and scientific passage. A completed application must be in the student's file in the MLS program office. Application and acceptance to the University of North Dakota is different than the application process of the MLS professional program.
When a student is registered in and level MLS courses, a specific tuition is assessed. Additional Policies All previous policies for admission apply: If the student is on a probationary status within the MLS program, a signed statement of understanding, generated by the MLS program director, concerning the probationary requirements to be met by the student, must be in the student's file in the MLS program office.
All required coursework must be successfully accomplished in the freshman, sophomore, and junior years prior to the start of the Summer Session with official verification displayed on the UND transcript.
