Programming is as simple as selecting a preset on your MIDI controller, using the Effect Gizmo buttons to turn on the desired loops, and holding the Write button to store those settings. This can be repeated for up to presets. Yes, it is! When an audio loop is switched off, the pedal and its cables are completely disconnected from your signal path. This allows you to bypass unused effects completely, preserving your guitar tone.

I can say, however, that my rig is in a constant state of flux and I am always looking for ways to "streamline" things.
My unit is a hybrid, in that Loops 1 thru 4 are Mono and Loops 5 thru 8 are Stereo - which can be used for either Stereo or Mono effects - so it's a bit more versatile than your standard GCX. I'm reading the manual on the GCX, and it seems to do a lot! I mostly use between pedals at a time in my rig. Since I got the Strymon Timeline, and Mobius, they take care of a lot of different tonalities. What midi controller are you using currently?
Trying to decide if I can use this in my rig or would need to opt for a 1u effects gizmo instead. My question is that my wah and tuner need to be out in front of me on my board with the midi controller and the other pedals will be housed in a rack by my amp with the Mini Effects Gizmo.
Could I just go tuner, wah, then into the guitar input of the Mini Effects Gizmo? The other loops would be occupied by a Archer in front of amp then split into effects loop and Rocktron Intellifex, El Cap, and Polara verb. Any help or input is much appreciated! Phisherman Member.
